Have you discovered that you do not fit within the traditional role of an architect?

Remember the wonderful element of the profession; flexibility. The truth is you can craft an individual path through specialisation, exact to specific requirements. It is possible to hone and focus on the creative or the technical and of course, both. Personally I aim my contribution toward Space Architecture. Imagine laboratories and space stations. Throughout my experience I have always researched into Nature. The discoveries inform my ideas and constructive methods help resolve issues we face. Furthermore, if the human built environment is not for you, then consider the factor of transferable skill(s). In combination with specific requirements you can pursue the design of objects, furniture, theatre sets or move toward marine architecture or the digital realm (virtual reality), the game/film/animation industry. These are just a few examples; do not limit yourself by expectations or norms and pursue your interests.   Look at  FactoryFifteen

Graphite capturing character...

"Touch the pencil to paper, dragging layers of carbon lattice off of the graphite.... it is s ensual.  Layers of graphite lay on to the page, o beying your every command. Allowing you to communicate with other humans."  -  Neil deGrasse Tyson Beyonce Marilyn Monroe

Micro climates located in a reclaimed  Kaolinite   pit ... "The design of the enclosing membrane led the team towards ETFE – a high performance polymer that is assembled in triple layer ‘pillows’ that are then inflated for structural rigidity. ETFE offered multiple benefits resulting in a virtuous circle of efficiency: the ETFE pillows could be made much larger than glass and were 1% of the weight (a factor 100 saving in embodied energy). This substantially reduced the amount of steel required and allowed more sunlight into the building. The end result was a radical reinterpretation of the greenhouse - an extremely lightweight enclosure that is self-heating for most of the year. The weight of the superstructure for the Humid Tropics Biome is less than the weight of the air that it contains. Having worked through the design process it is now possible to make a structure that is even lighter." -  http://www.exploration-architecture.com/projects/the-eden-project-biom...

Consider Light + Shadow

Always remember to consider Light  + Shadow & Materiality  in its raw, natural state. It allows manipulation of the environment and helps define the space around you.
